The proposed wind power facility is valued to be around SEK 650m ($97m), and it is financed by a bank loan and capital from shareholders of Holmen and Eurofideme 2.
Holmen noted that the wind power facility will employ 17 wind turbines with an installed power capacity of about 51MW. These turbines are scheduled to become operational in autumn 2014.
Commenting on the development, Holmen president and CEO Magnus Hall said the proposed wind power project will boost the company’s opportunities to generate wind power on its own land.
"It is also an important element in our focus on renewable energy, set to increase our self-sufficiency in electricity," added Hall.
Eurofideme 2 director Raphael Lance said, "It is a great opportunity for Eurofideme 2 to be co-investing in this project of national interest for wind in the Stockholm County with a high quality partner like Holmen."
Eurofideme 2, a fund managed by Mirova Environment and Infrastructure and part of Mirova, the Responsible Investment division of Natixis Asset Management, is investing through its wholly-owned subsidiary Wotan.
