The Serbian government has reported that the Belgrade-based Hidrotehnika-Hidroenergetika was sold for US$39.9M in early April to a consortium established by the company's workforce and led by general manager, Dragisa Vuckovic. The purchase price was 40 times higher than the starting price for the company.
Hidrotehnika-Hidroenergetika has built a total of 40 hydroelectric power plants, including the Djerdap 1 and Djerdap 11 plants.
