The power plants, which are planned for the commune of Puerto Octay, will be built with an investment of $30m.
The two run-of-the-river facilities will have power generating capacities of 9MW and 3MW.
The company’s power projects will provide electricity to the Sistema Interconectado Central grid of Chile and qualify for carbon credits under the Clean Development Mechanism of the United Nation.
Chile is trying to increase the participation of renewable energy in its power grid, Bloomberg reported.
