The two sites will be Newark International Airport, New Jersey and John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, both in the US.
The new locations will generate 800,000kWh of renewable energy per annum and reduce carbon emissions by 641t.
Commenting on the announcement of the solar installations, Hertz chairman and CEO said that expansion of solar facilities is part of the company’s continued commitment to sustainable business practices.
Hertz will also install eight additional solar systems in 2012 which will come up at Augusta, Georgia; Denver, Colorado; Los Angeles, California; Macon, Georgia; Newark, New Jersey; New York City, New York, and Boston, Massachusetts.
The company had installed a solar system at its corporate headquarters in Park Ridge, New Jersey capable of generating 300,000kWh of renewable energy per annum.
