During road construction for access to drill pad sites, the company uncovered high grade copper mineralization in the La Dura area.
Samples in the area together with samples of stockpiled oxide ore returned grades as 22% copper with an average grade of 7.2% copper.
Herencia Resources managing director Graeme Sloan said, "The drilling program at Picachos has kicked-off to an excellent start and the discovery of this new and very shallow mineralisation that is covered by only one metre of surface cover, continues to highlight the exciting potential of the Picachos Project."
Located approximately 50km south of the coastal city of La Serena, the Picachos project has confirmed multiple zones of mineralization with a combined strike length of well over 8km.
