A drought, which has crippled power supplies in Kenya for two years, has ended with two months of heavy rain.
The rains have been the turning point in the fortunes of the country’s sole power distribution utility, Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), which is surprised at how quickly hydro power has resumed its significant contribution to the country’s national grid.
