Lars G Josefsson, president and chief executive of the Swedish utility said that the events had tarnished the image of Vattenfall Europe and that errors have been made for which Rauscher must bear responsibility.
The move follows the dismissal of Dr. Bruno Thomauske as head of Vattenfall Europe Nuclear Energy (VENE) in the wake of shut downs at the nuclear stations Krümmel and Brunsbüttel. Hans-Jurgen Cramer from the German management team will assume the position as acting head of Vattenfall Europe.
