Indian construction and infrastructure development company Hindustan Construction (HCC) has been awarded the contract to construct a barrage and desilting chamber for NTPC Limited's 600MW Loharinag Pala hydroelectric power project.
The scope of work includes construction of a 73m long barrage on the river basin of Bhagirathi; head regulator; river training works; and an underground desilting chamber. The work is scheduled for completion in 40 calendar months and is valued at approximately US$53.03M.
The project’s capacity comes from four 150MW units, and it is located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttaranchal.
