The £2.3m contract forms part of a program to extend the nuclear power plant’s lifespan, as well as enhance its capacity, and covers production of major assemblies, Proactiveinvestors United Kingdom reports.
Scheduled to be housed within the reactor, the assemblies incorporate additional stretch tubes and impeller assemblies designed to work in high pressure and at extreme temperatures.
Hayward Tyler chief executive Ewan Lloyd-Baker said the contract forms part of the company’s Nuclear Excellence Drive.
"With the "N" Stamp approval in place in the US and acceptance onto the CNSIG Programme in the UK, we believe we are in an excellent position to extend our presence in the nuclear market given we now have over 1,000 pumps in active service globally," Baker added.
"With an estimated 490 nuclear power stations planned worldwide by 2030, this presents a huge opportunity for growth in a market which we know well."
The company currently has a total of 18 motors installed at the three reactor Forsmark plant.
Work under the contract is scheduled to complete in the next two years.
