GT Solar International has signed an agreement with Tera Xtal Technology, for the supply of Tera Xtal sapphire cores for increasing their production of epitaxial-ready LED wafers.
GT Solar president and CEO Tom Gutierrez said the company has been selected to provide LED sapphire material to meet Tera Xtal’s increased production needs.
GT Solar said its new sapphire production facility increases the availability of high quality sapphire material for its LED and specialty market sapphire customers.
GT Solar is a provider of polysilicon production technology, sapphire and silicon crystalline growth systems, and materials for the LED and other specialty markets.
Tera Xtal, a Taiwanese supplier of sapphire products, is engaged in manufacturing high quality 2 to 6-inch sapphire wafers for LED industry.
