Eon Wasserkraft is going to invest US$60.4M in the hydro power project, located in Germany’s federal state of Hesse on Lake Edersee. The contract value for Voith Siemens Hydro runs up to US$29M.

The overall technical concept – from structural to electro-mechanical design – was elaborated by Voith Siemens Hydro in close cooperation with consortial partner Bilfinger Berger. Voith Siemens Hydro will be responsible for the supply of the electro-mechanical equipment comprising a new reversible pump turbine with 74MW turbine output, motor-generator, shut-off valves, start-up converter, transformer and process control.
