Inadequate spillway capacity at Grenfell dam in central New South Wales, Australia, has resulted in it being listed as one of the most deficient in the state.

The state government’s dam safety committee says the structure located upstream of the town of Grenfell on Emu Creek has inadequate spillway capacity to deal with a major flood.

Weddin Shire Council, owner of the dam, has lodged a funding application with the New South Wales Government to widen the spillway and raise the dam wall.
