United Utilities seeking buyer for green energy division

United Utilities’ Green Energy Division, which has landfill gas and hydroelectric operations as well as planning permission for an offshore windfarm, is likely to be sold. John Roberts, chief executive of United, said the group had been looking to refinance the division, which has a book value of £50 million ($99 million), but had received offers for the whole of the operation. United is not revealing the price it is seeking for the business.
