Capital Power now owns 100% of the construction-ready project in central Alberta, following its initial purchase of a 50% interest in Halkirk I.
The total consideration received by Greengate for the sale of the power project was C$33m ($33.69m), paid in cash at closing.
Greengate president and CEO Dan Balaban said the company now focus its efforts on the 300MW construction-ready Blackspring Ridge I project, which is expected to be the largest operating wind farm in Canada upon completion in 2013.
