The proposed waste to energy plant is licensed to take in 25,000 tons per day of municipal solid waste, construction and demolition debris, industrial waste and approved special waste.

GreenWorld said the facility is located close to the national electricity grid and has rail and barge access.

The landfill has met Federal Environmental Protection Agency and Alabama’s Department of Environmental Management Regulations.

US-based GreenWorld Development, a developer of sustainable products for efficiency goods and services, will build, own and operate various Tyre-2-Energy/Renewable and Waste2Energy plants with specially developed technologies with zero carbon emissions.
