The Vietnamese authorities have given the go-ahead for construction of the Da Dang 2 hydroelectric power plant in Lam Dong province.
According to the Vietnamese News Agency, the plant will have an installed generating capacity of 34MW and will cost US$37.3m to construct. It is expected to start generating electricity in the third quarter of 2008.
