Canadian rare earth-based alloys manufacturer Great Western Minerals has inked a letter of intent (LOI) to forge an option and joint venture agreement with Star Uranium to develop Hoidas Lake project in northern Saskatchewan.

The agreement is signed to negotiate and execute definitive agreement for the project comprising fourteen mineral claims totaling approximately 12,522 hectares.

Great Western Minerals president and CEO Marc LeVier stated that the agreement is in line with its plan to progress operations at its Steenkampskraal project.

"We believe Star Uranium is better positioned to complete the exploration of the property at this time," added LeVier.

In addition to the project at Steenkampskraal, Great Western Minerals also holds interests in four rare earth exploration and development properties in North America.
