The news source reported that the coal-fired power plant is expected to supply new real estate developments with electricity, especially the Al Zorah development and other projects on the Emirates Road.
The power plant is expected to be commissioned in 42 months time, with feasibility, technical and environmental studies to be conducted in the next six months to reduce the effects of vapors and sulfate residue.
Two additional plants operated for the United Arab Emirates’s Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA) by MMC, are expected to become operational in the next few months time.
The FEWA has reportedly signed a pact with MMC to limit power tariffs to about 10% extra of the average prices in the emirates of Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain.
