The UK government appears to be considering privatizing parts of British Nuclear Fuels Ltd, the fuel cycle and waste management company. It has appointed accountancy firm KPMG to advise it on “public private partnership”, while BNFL has retained Rothschilds.

Earlier this year, BNFL bought Westinghouse’s nuclear business in partnership with Morrison Knudsen Corp, of the US for $1.2 billion. BNFL also operates UK’s magnox reactors.
