In 2010, the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam has awarded these contracts to GMR Energy
According to the terms of the contract, GMR will build 400 km of 400 KV transmission lines along with two power sub-stations based at Alwar and Deedwana in Rajasthan.
These projects will be owned and operated by GMR for a concession period of 25 years, which also includes two years for the development of the project, reports Business Standard.
GMR has constructed three other power projects which includes barge mounted power plant at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, 200MW power plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Vemagiri plant in Andhra Pradesh.
