The value of the transaction is estimated to be $360m over a 36-month period.
The Samuel Coal operations are located on about 5,000 acres near Hindman in the eastern part of the US state of Kentucky.
Global Earth is under agreement to buy all of Samuel Coal’s operations with the closing date of 11 August 2011.
Global Earth is a joint venture company jointly-owned by Global Earth Energy and Modern Coal.
