The previous results by SRK Consulting used data solely from gamma probe information, while the current calculation incorporates chemical assays as well as an updated K factor that converts the gamma probe data to an equivalent U3O8 grade.

Core drilling has completed on 40% of the resource and the overall tonnage and grade is expected to improve going forward as it is being upgraded to Measured and Indicated category, the company said.

Global Atomic president and CEO Stephen G Roman said the inclusion of the updated ‘K factor’ and assay data has made a materially positive impact on the Dasa deposit.

"Due to the high grade nature of this deposit, management has made the decision to do all future drilling with core rigs and chemical assays which gives the most accurate information on grade, geology and mineralogy," Roman added.

"The Dasa discovery is open on strike and downdip and we are excited to complete an initial PEA on the current resource in addition to further drilling to expand the size of this deposit."

Findings after including the updated K factor and assay data – areas drilled with core holes and assayed yielded more than 20% grade increase in the Deep East block.

At 600ppm and 1,000ppm cut-off, the underground inferred resource contains 115 million pounds at the rate of 1,828ppm and 95 million pounds at the rate of 2,554ppm respectively. At 1,500ppm cut-off underground inferred resource contained 77 million pounds at the rate of 3,420ppm.
