Renewable energy generation in Germany has all but stalled over the last year according to the latest figures released by industry association the VDEW.

Renewables contributed some 10% of capacity over 2005, compared with 9.4% in 2004 giving year-on-year production growth of 6.4% as compared with 25% in 2004.

Wind accounted for 26.5 TWh, hydro 21.5 TWh, biomass 10 TWh and energy from waste 2.2 TWh followed by solar with 1 TWh.
