E.On and RWE have submitted extensive statements to the German federal cartel office relating to its investigation into the link between the price of carbon dioxide emissions certificates and rising power prices.
In August, the office said it would investigate claims that RWE and E.On had unfairly raised prices to end-users on the basis of higher carbon prices. There is no set date for the investigation to complete.
