Through this partnership, the Durathon battery technology of GE is combined with Xtreme Power’s Xtreme Active Control Technology (XACT). The companies say the partnership will provide safe and economical storage of electricity for grid applications.
XACT is a control system architecture that offers control algorithms, real time response and remote monitoring.
GE Energy Storage general manager Prescott Logan said "Our combined team’s proven experience in integrating energy storage technologies with power conversion systems and the grid, as well as installing and operating multi-megawatt energy storage systems will bring real life-cycle value to our customers."
Xtreme Power president and CEO Alan Gotcher said that GE’s technology matched with Xtreme Power’s XACT control platform and systems integration expertise.
