The 433MW power plant will be operated by a consortium formed by South Korean companies Samsung Construction & Trading Corp, Korea Electric Power Corporation and Techint Engineering and Construction.
Samsung Engineering and Techint are the engineering, procurement & construction contractors for the facility which is scheduled to begin commercial operation in May 2013.
Electricity generated by the plant will be supplied to state-owned utility Comision Federal de la Electricidad for use in the northern part of Mexico.
