The power projects – Giza North and Banha – will have a total installed capacity of 2,250MW and are scheduled to begin operations by the middle of 2013.

GE will deliver four Frame 9FA gas turbines for the Giza North plant and two 9FA turbines for the Banha facility, along with installation and technical services.

The four 9FA turbines at the Giza North facility will have a total capacity of 1,000MW, while the plant will have a 1,500MW capacity in combined-cycle operation.

The two turbines at the Banha plant will have a total capacity of 500MW and the facility’s combined-cycle capacity will be 750MW.

GE’s consortium partner, SEPCO III, will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the power projects.
