The JV will manufacture, assemble, sell and service energy-efficient heavy-duty gas-fired power generation turbines.
It will manufacture 77MW low-emission GE 6FA industrial gas turbines to 50 Hz local specification, and the production facility will be constructed in the vicinity of the Russian city of Rybinsk with an initial capacity of 14 units per year.
Construction of the facility is planned to begin in late 2011, with completion expected in 2013.
GE will hold a 50% stake in the JV, while INTER RAO UES and UEC will each hold a 25% interest.
