GE will supply 31 units of its 1.6-100 turbine and 18 units of its 2.75-103 turbine for the wind project, which supports Ontario’s Green Energy Act.
The GE wind turbines will be delivered in the next year, with commercial operation of the project expected in 2014.
Located in Melanchthon County, the project will deliver 100MW of clean energy to the region’s electricity grid.
Under the Green Energy Act, renewable energy developers are required to demonstrate 50% local content for their projects.
Longyuan Canada Renewables is a subsidiary of China Long Yuan Power Generation, a wind power developer in China.
