PTC4 is a subsidiary of the National Power Transmission Corporation (NPT) and is looking to double the country’s existing power capacity.

The 500km 500-kV Pleiku-Phu Lam transmission line, which is the company’s transmission backbone, will be installed with GE’s series capacitor banks.

GE Energy, as part of the contract, will supply six series capacitor banks to NPT and provide on-site supervision for their installation, testing and commissioning.

Commenting on the signing of the agreement GE Energy Asia Pacific President Kenji Uenishi said that a healthy infrastructure is essential to supporting the economic growth of the region.

According to the company, GE Energy will be partnering 3C Company to seek local content for the project.
