GE’s Energy Financial Services unit has acquired the 55 MW Alsleben project, located between Magdeburg and Halle, from EAB Technology Group.

Alsleben, which recently began construction, will consist of 37 GE 1.5 MW turbines and is due to begin commercial operation by April 2006.

EAB, the project developer and construction manager, will continue as technical advisor, while GE Energy will operate and maintain the wind farm.

Financial terms of the deal, GE’s third German wind acquisition, were not disclosed.
