According to the company, the new contract represents an extension of the two companies’ 30-year collaboration. Gaznat is a regional Swiss gas operator supplying natural gas to the French-speaking regions of Switzerland.
According to GDF Suez, the agreement is expected to enable Gaznat to contribute in a major way to ensuring continuity of supply in western Switzerland.
Jean-Marie Dauger, executive vice president of GDF Suez in charge of global gas and liquefied natural gas operations, said: “This contract protects GDF Suez’s position as Gaznat’s growing supplier in the coming decade and comes on the back of the strengthening of our partnership with Swiss company Gas Verbund Mitteland in 2007.”
GDF Suez is engaged in electricity and natural gas, upstream to downstream. It develops its businesses (energy, energy services and environment) around a model to take up the challenges: responding to energy needs, ensuring the security of supply, fighting against climate change and maximizing the use of resources.
