The company is a US-based non-residential retail electricity supplier that provides power to commercial, industrial and institutional customers.
GDF entered the Ohio and Duke Energy service territories to further expand its business in the areas and broaden pricing options and product offerings to the large commercial and industrial customers.
The company has opened a sales office in Columbus to serve the central and southern Ohio markets and is in the process of hiring additional sales personnel.
GDF SUEZ Energy Resources president and CEO Sam Henry said the company’s expansion in the new markets is expected to drive competition and benefit customers in terms of pricing and product options.
"We have a lot to offer large energy buyers in the AEP Ohio and Duke Energy territories," Henry added.
"For nearly two years, we’ve delivered retail electricity services for commercial and industrial customers in other portions of Ohio, and our competitive pricing, reliable service, and strong financial background have all been well received.
"We look forward to bringing these same benefits to consumers in these two new markets."
