PROJECT

Gaz de France has unveiled plans for a 2500MWe power plant to be built in the Indian state of Gujarat at a cost of $1 billion. The power station will burn liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Gaz de France submitted its proposal to the government, and invited Alstom to become an equity partner. It is seeking a third equity partner to control operation and maintenance. Gaz de France holds a 26 per cent interest in a LNG terminal being constructed at Dahej on the Gujarat coast.
