The Los Angeles Times reported that the average price for self-serve regular gasoline in California fell to $3.226 per gallon, though it was 69 cents higher when compared to 2007.

The average price for regular gasoline in the US fell to 5.1 cents to $3.017 per gallon in the week that ended on January 21, 2008. This price was 85.2 cents higher when compared to 2007.

Crude oil prices have fallen on the back of fears of recession in the US economy and this price drop is being reflected at the gas stations, according to the Los Angeles Times.
