Italy-based domestic gas producer Gas Plus is considering tie-up opportunities with local utilities such as Enia and Linea Group, Thomson Financial quotes daily MF as saying.

MF quoted Davide Usberti, the main shareholder in Gas Plus, as saying: In Italy we are monitoring the situation as regards medium-sized companies like Enia and Linea Group.

Stating that the company was interested in opportunities both in Italy and abroad, Mr Usberti said that outside Italy the company was looking forward to take over spin-off operations from large energy companies.

Mr Usberti added that Gas Plus was also interested in bidding for new gas exploration licenses in eastern Europe, revealed MF.
