Unión Fenosa will invest EUR3.7m during 2013 to roll out the smart devices and install in the province.

The subsidiary will install the smart meters in 14 towns, which includes Ituero y Lama, La Losa, Navas de Riofrío, Navas de San Antonio, Ortigosa del Monte, Otero de Herreros, Palazuelos de Eresma, San Cristóbal de Segovia, San Ildefonso, Trescasas, Valdeprados, Vegas de Matute, Villacastín, and Zarzuela del Monte.

With the new project completed by the end of the year, the distribution company will have installed over 58,700 digital meters in Segovia, which amounts to 40% of the 143,000 meters operated by Gas Natural Fenosa in the province.

The roll-out of smart meters is expected to continue until 2018.
