The wind turbines will be destined to the Cattolica and Lercara wind farms, respectively located in the Agrigento and Lercara regions. Both agreements include the supply of the wind turbines, their installation and start-up, as well as their operation and maintenance.

The closing of this new deal reinforces Gamesa’s outstanding position in the strategic Italian market, where the company has installed 745 MW since it started up its activities and where it expects to double the wind energy capacity installed to date over the next four years.

From an environmental viewpoint, the wind turbine generators Gamesa will supply to the Cattolica and Lercara 1 wind farms will contribute towards generating energy supplies that are respectful to the environment by avoiding the emission of pollutants to the atmosphere. More specifically, the annual production of these installations’ 98 MW will replace 21,070 tons of petroleum equivalent (TPE) per year and avoid the emission into the atmosphere of 147,000 tons of CO2 a year.
