Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa has inked a wind turbine supply contract, totaling 46MW of capacity, with ITC Paperboards and Specialty Papers Division, a subsidiary of the India-based ITC.

As per the agreed terms, the company will supply 23 units of its G97-2.0 MW wind turbines for a wind power project in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

The deal includes the supply, installation, as well as operation and maintenance services at the wind power plant.

According to the company, the commissioning of the wind turbines is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2014.

This supply contract is an addition to the recent orders for the supply of wind turbines totaling 230MW.

Currently, Gamesa has installed over 830MW and manages capacity of more than 700MW under O&M agreements across India.
