The facility is located on two hills known as Hula and Izopo in San Buena Ventura and Santa Ana, and is being built with an investment of $300m.
The new wind farm, which is owned by Mesoamerica Energy, will be equipped with 51 units of the Gamesa G87-2MW turbine.
According to Gamesa, the turnkey contract to build the Cerro de Hula wind farm is scheduled for completion in 18 months.
The contract includes connecting the wind farm to the electricity network, building access roads, constructing buildings, transporting the wind turbines and completing their electro-mechanical assembly.
The contract also includes maintenance services for two years following start-up.
Mesoamerica Energy is active in the development of renewable energy projects in Central America and countries neighbouring the region, through its subsidiary Energia Eolica de Honduras.
