The new ETERNUS8000 and ETERNUS4000 systems will offer advanced data security and integrity features, including LUN-level, disk-data encryption combined with WAN optimization for maximum protection of sensitive information.
The two systems will offer MAID (massive array of idle disks) technology, enabling customers to reduce power consumption. Future models will also include solid state disks to enhance performance in a demanding application infrastructure, as well as thin provisioning to increase power efficiency through reduced disk drive utilization.
