The new plant will have a total floor space of 9,878 m2, double the size of its current location; the construction will start on February 12, 2009 and is scheduled to be completed in December 2009.

The company has reported that the number of used electric goods processed, has increased by 47% from 8.55 million units in 2001, to 12.11 million in 2007. The Japanese ‘Home Appliance Recycling Law, also requires the upgrading of material recycling rate, product recycling rate and the improvement of factory efficiency.

Fuji Ecocycle in Fujinomiya city has been collecting and recycling used consumer electric goods since April 2000, in cooperation with Sony Corporation, SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. and Sharp Corporation.
