The United Arab Emirates are due to complete the first phase of a $12 million project for the development of renewable energy in the region. The second phase will soon be started.
The first phase is to investigate the meteorological data for wind and sun in the region. Phase 2 would involve setting up 12 different projects, with two more stages to follow for the setting up of more ambitious projects, including a big wind farm project.
