The new order is an extension of a previously announced commercial order, from earlier this year.
As part of the previous order, the company’s TIFI Targeted In-Furnace Injection technology will be installed on three additional large coal-fired boilers.
Chemical injection is scheduled to commence toward the end of 2011.
Fuel Tech chairman, president and CEO Douglas Bailey said with the extension of three units, this customer will now be utilizing the company’s TIFI technology on four coal-fired units.
"Our TIFI approach will enable this customer to realize significant cost savings by enabling this fuel flexibility, while realizing operating performance improvements and additional megawatt generation," Bailey said.
