An order awarded from a major utility and an existing customer to Fuel Tech is for a Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) project utilizing a combination of NOxOUT and HERT High Energy Reagent technologies for three large combustion units located in the South Central US.

Fuel Tech’s SNCR process is a post-combustion nitrogen oxide (NOx) reduction method which reduces NOx through the controlled injection of reagent into the post-combustion flue gas path.

Overall SNCR performance will be maximized with the combination of NOxOUT and HERT injection technologies using common storage, handling and control components.

The company is planning to deliver technologies in April of next year.

An additional order was received for temperature mapping and Computational Fluid Dynamic modeling for a biomass unit in Scotland.

Fuel Tech chairman, president and CEO Douglas Bailey said the SNCR technology can provide the customers with timely NOx reductions where boilers may operate across a wide load range.
