Fuel Tech’s TIFI Targeted In-Furnace Injection technology will be deployed on a coal-fired boiler experiencing slagging problems associated with the burning of Eastern US and South American coals.
Chemical injection is scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2012.
Fuel Tech chairman, president and CEO Douglas Bailey said given the firm’s proven success at other facilities, it is confident that TIFI approach will yield significant cost savings by improving unit performance.
"We look forward to working closely with this customer and will explore the opportunities for additional business on its extensive coal-fired fleet," Bailey said.
