Florida Power & Light has signed an agreement with SmartSynch to implement internet connections to commercial and industrial consumers’ electric meters. The utility will replace solid state data recorders with wireless SmartSynch meter systems at several thousand large consumers’ installations, enabling customers to be notified of status via e-mail, fax or pager. It will also monitor power quality.
