Foster Wheeler has won a contract by Hidroelectrica del Cantabrico (HC) to supply and install new low-NOx burners and to upgrade the mill classifiers on Unit 1 at HC's Aboño power plant in Spain.
The modifications will enable HC to meet European Union emission regulations.
The contract, valued at approximately $6.6 million will see the two boilers at the plant, rated at 360 MW and 540 MW respectively and originally supplied by Foster Wheeler, upgraded. In 2005, Foster Wheeler was awarded the contract to upgrade the burners of Unit 2.
