Foster Wheeler has secured a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract from Star Petroleum Refining Co (SPRC) for the residue fluidized catalytic cracking unit (RFCCU) revamp turnaround and inspection project at the Map Ta Phut refinery in Thailand.

The project aims to revamp the RFCCU to improve on-stream reliability together with environmental and performance improvements.

Foster Wheeler will carry out the FEED works for this revamp, including licensor selection, and the FEED is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2012.

The company and SPRC will also work to evaluate the existing RFCCU maintenance and reliability philosophies to identify any changes that may be needed in future to retain the continuous improvement of on-stream performance.

Foster Wheeler is a global engineering and construction contractor and power equipment supplier.
