A subsidiary of the Global Power Group has received a limited notice to proceed (LNTP) from Hyundai Engineering and Construction for the design and supply of supercritical circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generators for the Samcheok Green Power project in South Korea.

The order is being delivered for Korea Southern Power , the owner and developer of the project.

Foster Wheeler will design and supply four 550 gross megawatt electric supercritical CFB steam generators and provide site advisory and commissioning services for the project.

The CFB steam generators will burn coal mixed with biomass in conformity with all environmental regulatory requirements.

Commercial operation of the new steam generators is scheduled to begin in June 2015.

The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed and the value of the LNTP will be included in the company’s second-quarter 2011 bookings.

The final contract and full notice to proceed is expected in June this year.
